Easter Special Worship Services (All are invited to join us)

March 1st - 7pm - Ash Wednesday

"Ash Wednesday" marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. During some Ash Wednesday services, the minister will lightly rub the sign of the cross with ashes onto the foreheads of worshipers. The use of ashes as a sign of mortality and repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship. Historically, ashes signified purification and sorrow for sins." (from All are invited for a simple and somber service to mark the beginning of Lent.

April 14th - 7:30pm - Good Friday

The source of our term for the Friday before Easter, "Good Friday," is not clear. It may be a corruption of the English phrase "God's Friday," which is a common name for the day among English and Dutch speaking people. It is a day that proclaims God's purpose of loving and redeeming the world through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a day that is good because God was drawing the world to God's self in Christ. We call it "good" because we look backward at the crucifixion through the lens of Easter!

April 16 - Easter Services

7am - Sunrise Service

This early service will hopefully be outside - I do have inside plans for inclement weather. The service will loosely follow an Easter Vigil tradition and is largely based upon Scripture. The music will be simple, familiar and minimal - no professional music, no hymnals needed. Come with faith and a sense of adventure as we explore and experience Easter in the early morning hours!

10:15am - Traditional Easter Worship

This is our traditional Easter service - just what you expect, flowers and joy, family and friends, "real Church music" from piano/organ, traditional hymns and Choir anthem. Come and join us to celebrate the joy of Christ's Resurrection and how we understand it's importance for humanity!
