Advent!  Happy New Year!  With the season of Advent, we start another Church Year.  We always begin with an anticipation and a remembrance.  We remember how people waited for so long for the arrival of the Messiah and we anticipate Christ’s return.  Preparation is a key part of the season - not just Christmas decorating, shopping, wrapping, baking, caroling and all the other goodies that we may associate with preparation for Christmas, but also a preparation of ourselves, our hearts, our minds to evaluate how the presence and anticipated return of our Lord can add to our daily lives.  One service that always helps me is the Blue Christmas/Longest Night service…
