Pastoral Message

Many of you know that there is a long list of things that I know I am not.  One item near the top of that list is: I am not a gardener.  I fully relate to Dr. Who when he refers to gardening as the need to micromanage nature.  I understand that some folks connect to holy mystery through their time tilling the soil and making space for the bees.  I appreciate your flowers and I delight in your zucchinis.  Most of what I know about gardening comes through scripture and is not necessarily useful (scattering seed wastefully).  I am capable of learning and sharing from perspectives that are not natural to me or my preferences.  Like you - who just a couple sentences ago endured yet another Dr. Who reference!  My monthly offering of writing from unfoldinglight.net by Steve Garnaas-Holmes:
Deadheading the marigolds
Pinch them off,
the faded lovelies,
to make room and energy for more.
 
The gifts of successes,
the magic moments,
let them go.
 
the marigolds of life
will persist.
Glory unfolds infinitely.
